Gus's Story

Gus is a young Bernedoodle who has recently lost his home. His original family decided that having a dog & small children was just too much for them. They tried to return him to his breeder, but it did not go well & Gus was traumatized. So now he has become quite wary of strangers. To be clear, I took him less than a day to warm up to his foster mom.

Gus is hoping to find an active family who maybe has another dog of similar size and age for him to play with - he is great with all the dogs in his foster home. He is also very interested in the cats, but hasn't figured out what he is supposed to act like around them.

Although Gus has lived with children his whole life until now, we are looking for a home with kids about toddler age that will understand that he might be afraid of them at first. He definitely needs a fenced yard to really get out & stretch his legs - he is very athletic.

If you think Gus would be a good match for your family, please email for more information & an adoption application. Please keep in mind that as a non-shedding Doodle, Gus is going to require regular grooming by a professional.
