Gunner's Story

Name: Gunner
Age: 3 Years
Gender: Male
Breed: Great Dane Mix
Weight: 108.9Ibs

Meet Gunner, a big-hearted Great Dane who is the definition of a "gentle giant" with a side of goofy charm. Despite some rough edges on the outside, Gunner is an incredibly sweet and dopey boy who greets life with an infectious, happy personality. He recently joined a playgroup where he showed off his wonderful temperament; we were able to remove his muzzle quickly, and he spent his time trying to make friends. While he did accidentally try to step on a few of his smaller companions—simply because he doesn’t quite realize how big his paws are—he showed great potential. We believe that once he is neutered, his social skills will shine even brighter, and he would likely thrive in a home with other canine siblings to keep him company.

Gunner is looking for a hero who can look past his current medical "to-do list" and see the amazing companion underneath. He is currently sporting some hair loss and scarring on his left outer leg, as well as a skin tag and a small growth on his back. He has also been treated for bilateral ear infections and is currently on medication for a secondary infection caused by a left cherry eye. While he’s a brave boy through it all, he will eventually need surgery to have that cherry eye removed to stay comfortable. Because of these ongoing needs, we are seeking an adopter who is in a stable position to provide for him financially or a dedicated rescue organization that can take him under their wing. If you have room in your heart (and on your couch) for this resilient, happy-go-lucky Dane, Gunner is ready to fill your life with love.

Sponsor his $100 neuter or medical needs here: https://client.pointandpay.net/web/WayneCoDogShelterOH/

Adoption questionnaire & information: https://www.waynedogshelter.org/adoption-questionnaire
