This charming boy is one in a million and has looks and personality to spare!<br/><br/>Gunner is a very well socialized Chocolate Lab who is an absolute pleasure to be around. Although he is quite high energy, he has very good manners, including knowing his basic commands. Gunner even takes treats very gently and keeps "four on the floor" (he does not jump up). He absolutely loves attention and is ready for a snuggle or a play at any time, and especially loves to play with his many plastic balls. Gunner does not seem to bark at all, only lets out a small whine and cry when he really wants to say hello! Gunner loves to sit on your lap (he doesn't know how big he is) and leans up against your legs, ready for a hug. He thinks everybody is his best friend and he loves to show off his huge hilarious and loving personality. Just wait until you see his entire body wiggles when anybody says hi to him!<br/><br/>Gunner loves other dogs and although a bit exuberant, is very well mannered around them. He would probably love to live with another big dog who he can wrestle and play with. Gunner also enjoys being around small dogs, but his large size and exuberance might be a little too much for the average small dog. We have not tested Gunner with cats, but at this point, we think he would be best in a human and dog only home. Gunner would do well with dog-savvy children over 12, due to his size and huge wagging tail.<br/><br/>Gunner will thrive in a home that wants a dog who is a member of the family and can join them on all sorts of adventures and not be left behind. Gunner would make an excellent hiking or camping buddy, and we would not be surprised if he also loves to swim (he is a Lab after all!). He would prefer a family who can devote lots of time with him and continue his positive reinforcement training, as well as keep up with his exercise. Gunner is a big dog (40kg) and will require a lot of activity. Although Gunner is not displaying signs of separation anxiety, we have noticed he enjoys shredding beds and blankets for fun (likely because he is not used to being in a kennel setting). His new family will need to be aware of this and understand that he is still a giant baby! Gunner would prefer to be home with someone for a majority of the time as he just loves his people so much and is still such a young dog.<br/><br/>We are looking for a very special home for this very special boy and cannot wait to find him his perfect family!
