Gunner's Story

Gunner is a male black and tan hound mix, around 3 years old, and weighs around 50 pounds. He was rescued from a rural small-town dog pound.

Gunner is a typical goofy and happy hound. He is a good boy. Gunner is crate-trained and goes into his crate when told. He obeys and comes when called. He rides well in a vehicle, sits for treats, and walks on a leash. He is good about baths. He is affectionate and loves human attention and petting. He loves toys, treats, and playing with other dogs. It is very hot here in Texas, and Gunner prefers to be inside and snoozing on the couch in the air conditioning. During the heat of the day, he will go out to potty and run, and wrestle with his friends for a short time, but then he is ready to come back inside to cool off. Being a hound, Gunner exhibits some of the typical hound behaviors. He jumps very high when he sees a squirrel in the tree. He barks at people walking down the street andat other dogs and cats he sees in the neighborhood. He will counter-surf with his partners in crime. And if I forget to secure the cabinet with the baby lock, he and the other dogs will open it and raid the garbage. We think he may finally be housetrained. He had to learn that he cannot mark inside simply because the little dogs do it.

Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms. He is now heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Gunner is available for adoption to approved in-state and out-of-state applicants. His in-state adoption fee is $200. His out-of-state adoption fee is $400 and includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to locations in the PNW, the NE, and other northern states in between.

Please email 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you would like to adopt this good boy.
