Gunner's Story

Gunner has found his forever home!

Hello my name is Gunner and I am a 1 year old all white Spitz/German Shepherd mix.. I was born in a small town in Tennessee and my parents left me behind. This old fellow took care of me but he was in a special chair and he couldn't walk too much. He sure loved me and pampered me as much as he could but he never took me to the animal doctor. Some of my fellow furry friends mentioned that I needed to be seen by Dr. Doolittle because I walked funny. I didn't care too much how I walked I was happy the way I was. One day I didn't feel too good and my dad call the dog catcher and told him that he couldn't care for me anymore and he wanted me to be in a safe place. He gave the dog catcher $2.00 bills and a bag of small food as a donation and he looked at me with those old sad eyes and told me that I was going to be ok, that he loved me and he wanted me to have a better life.

I ended up in this cold place with so many others around me. I was really scared and I stood up by the corner just looking at everybody that passed by. Finally, somebody came to my rescue, but I wasn't feeling too good. I was weak and I felt very hot. This lady took me to this house with so many other fellow friends and I felt a little scared but they all laid down by my side without fear.

My foster mom was a sweet lady who came and hugged me and kissed me and told me everything was going to be ok. That night I slept with her on the couch because she knew I wasn't feeling well. The next day she rushed me to the hospital and I got a shot and some medications and after a few days I started to feel better.

I was so lucky to be with her. She saved my life and I got a second chance to be able to be loved one more time. This is my story! I might not be perfect but I sure am as cute - like a snowball. Sometimes I might still walk a little funny. Well that it the price of being like a snowman.

Adoption fee is $150.

***All applicants must complete an application, have valid references and participate in a home visit before an adoption will be finalized.***
