Gunner is very easy going and uncomplicated - the perfect family pet! It took him a little while to bond with his foster, but now he thinks of her as his person.<br/><br/>Gunner loves to follow his foster around the yard and supervise her doing chores; your new shadow! If she goes inside, he waits patiently by the door for her to return! Inside, he is happy to rest in a crate near her while she watches TV. He sleeps quietly in a crate all night.<br/><br/>Gunner behaves reasonably well on leash, occasionally requiring only a minor tug on the leash and a no to stop pulling; hes a big, strong guy!<br/><br/>Gunner has a nice recall, knows sit, wait, and no. He has been good with all of the foster's dogs, cats, and even the foster puppies at the home! He has also been good around the chickens and showed some interest in the sheep.<br/><br/>Gunner likes to play fetch with a soft Frisbee, bringing it back nicely. However, if the youngest female horns in and nips at him, he stops playing. He's even been fine during storms!<br/><br/>If you are the perfect forever home for Gunner, please fill out an application and contact his foster parents at faithandquest2@gmail.com. BRBCR's approval process includes phone interviews, reference checks, and a home visit prior to meeting a foster dog. Approved applicants must meet at the foster dogs location. Blue Ridge Border Collie Rescue's Adoption Policy
BRBCR's adoption process requires that each of the following steps are successfully completed before meeting one of our foster dogs. The approval process typically takes 1 - 2 weeks. 1. Contact the foster parent of the dog that you are interested in to request an adoption application. 2. Fill out an adoption application on our website OR email a completed adoption application to brbcrdogs@gmail.com. 3. A BRBCR volunteer will conduct a phone interview with the applicant and the applicant's veterinarian and personal references. 4. A BRBCR volunteer will conduct a home visit with the applicant. Upon approval, the foster parent will set up a Meet and Greet for the applicant. If the Meet and Greet is successful, then the applicant will be able to take the BRBCR dog home for a 2-week trial period. If the trial period is successful, the adoption becomes official.
