Gumbo: Comedian in Residence<br/><br/>On Gumbo’s first play date after being rescued, a water bottle was used to break up a little tiff between two of his playmates. When the water was sprayed at the dogs’ feet, Gumbo came running—right into the spray. “That’s our boy,” said South Euclid Humane Society volunteer Laura Bruck. “He’ll do anything for a laugh!”<br/><br/>Bruck was glad to hear that Gumbo’s playful side was emerging after being so sad in his cage at the police station. “We all knew that Gumbo missed someone desperately and didn’t understand why he was sitting in a cage all alone. It only makes matters worse that Jack Russells are especially smart, and really do understand when things in their lives aren’t as they should be.”<br/><br/>But whether Gumbo was lost and never looked for, or simply tossed away, no one came to claim him despite the Humane Society’s efforts to find his family. Even so, Gumbo’s tail has wagged with delight from the moment he was sprung from “jail.” Today, his biggest problem is deciding what to do first—play with his foster dog-siblings or snuggle with his human foster companions. <br/><br/>In fact, Gumbo has only two wishes in life; to play, play, play and to cuddle up with the person he loves most—a person who will make him feel safe and loved for the rest of his life. “I don’t think that’s too much to ask,” said Bruck.<br/><br/>Age: 1-2 years<br/>Weight: 17 pounds<br/>Breed/Type: Jack Russell-mix<br/>Treatments: Neutered and has all shots<br/>Traits: Very smart, active and playful.
