GULLY's Story

GULLY

www.youluckydogrescue.org - Adoption Application can be found at this website.

Gully's estimated age is 2.5 years and he is 28 lbs.

Gully's name should probably have been Velcro because he loves attaching himself to all of the other members of his foster family, both human and canine. Gully both loves to play and cuddle. He wants nothing more than to be with his family. He has a goofy and enthusiastic side where he loves to play with toys and invites dogs and humans alike to play with him. He is looking for his forever playmate. Gully loves chewy toys the best, such as benebones. He loves to mouth play if you let him, but he takes redirection well and will play with stuffed toys and chewy toys. Tug, keep away and fetch are some of his favorite games. He will play happily with both humans and dogs. Gully is also able to settle calmly and loves to sleep next to or on top of his people. He is also fond of burrowing under blankets and covers as long as you are there to lie on or lay beside. Additionally, he will snuggle with doggy family members if they are open to it. Gully is a submissive dog who has never shown any aggression towards another dog no matter the size or temperament of the other dog. He does well in public settings. He is quiet and well-behaved.His foster home has 6 kids ages 9 to 19 and he loves all of the kids. He has shown no aggression towards the children. Gully is not yet housetrained, but he is crate-trained and he wants to please so with steady guidance and reinforcement, he will learn. He also wears a belly band well. The enemy list for Gully includes thunderstorms (and rain in general), the vacuum cleaner, fireworks and water. He shakes during thunderstorms / loud noises and seeks comfort from his humans. Although he still gets a little nervous in the car, he is a great rider and is excited about going places. He does well on a leash and enjoys being outside on nice days. He will make a great dog for households and families who really want to engage with their dog and/or households who have other playful dogs.

For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details that are not included in this biography.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.

The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.

We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
