Guinevere in TN - Low-Energy Velcro Dog!'s Story

Guinevere has long, soft fur and the gentlest soul you'll ever encounter! This beautiful velcro dog has discovered the joys of indoor living and is forever grateful for the comfort and safety of her loving foster home. Guinevere is housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on leash, making her a dream companion for someone seeking a low-energy friend. With an activity level that's practically zero, she's happiest enjoying no more than twenty minutes of exercise before retreating to her favorite spot—preferably her very own cooling posture pillow where she can position her hips just right for maximum comfort. Speaking of comfort, Guinevere adores cuddles, soft blankets, and her collection of stuffies, and she'll happily "talk" to you about all her needs and feelings! This affectionate girl loves meeting new people and would likely do wonderfully with older children, given her gentle nature. She's cat-friendly as long as the felines respect her space at mealtime, and she can be placed with a younger, low-energy male dog. She’d also be perfectly content as an only dog, as she can be protective of her food and personal space from other dogs (though never from people). Guinevere has permanent shrapnel in her left hip from past trauma, which causes occasional tenderness and early arthritis, but this strong girl refuses to let it dampen her spirit. Her ideal home would be with someone who is a homebody, who perhaps works from home and appreciates a quiet life. A standard four-foot fence is perfectly adequate since this indoor-loving lady has zero desire to escape! Guinevere only barks when other dogs invade her bubble, doesn't dig, and prefers to be inside always, where she can enjoy her favorite snack of soft boiled eggs. She's looking for a peaceful forever home where she can finally rest, be cherished, and spend her days wrapped in love and comfort!

NYS Registered Rescue # RR102
NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
