Hello, <br/>My name is Gucci; I am a handsome 4-year-old Standard Poodle. I know my name might sounds weird for a boy, but once you spend some time with me, you'll see my name suits me. Especially since I've been freshly groomed recently and I clean up really nice. <br/><br/>Some good things to know about me, I am a very active 4-year-old boy, I love attention and I don't shed. Am an ideal candidate for anyone who has allergies. <br/><br/>Since I've been in my new foster home, I'm proud to say I haven't had any accidents inside the home day or night.<br/>While my foster mom is at work she allows me to roam freely and I am on my very best behavior while she is gone. It helps that we go on walk every morning, she takes a while to get ready for morning walks, but I am very patient and quiet while I wait. <br/><br/>i do need some assistance to help learn better leash manners but I catch on quickly. Poodles are very smart like that if you haven't heard. <br/><br/>I have spent time around other dogs; I play a little rough and can get a little mouthy. Interactions with new dogs should be done very intentionally and under supervision. <br/><br/>Words from my foster mom: He is a very active boy that will thrive with daily activities. He's smart and picks things up quickly. It's cute when he tilts his head to the side while trying to figure out what you are talking about. He is still getting used to having freedom in a fenced back yard, but will come out with more outdoor time. He likes to follow me around the house or be close to me on the couch while reading or watching T.V. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home & truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption; discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, & 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through. <br/><br/>Last Hope, Inc. is an all volunteer, foster based, no kill rescue! You can see almost all of our dogs on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 11 am - 2 pm at Lakeville PetSmart (located by Hy-Vee just off 160th & Pilot Knob).<br/><br/>Policies: You do not have to have a fence to adopt a dog from us, but some dogs will require a fence or acres to play, or an active family who will make sure the dog gets the exercise it needs to be happy. Some dogs do not have the temperament that will do well with young children. <br/><br/>The Adoption Fee is not enough to cover the vet bills. Sales tax of almost 7.25% is also included in the adoption fee that you see. Please consider donating to Last Hope to help us save these animals!<br/><br/>CAN YOU FOSTER? By taking a dog or puppies temporarily into your home and then coming to our adoption days to help find them homes, we can save more!
