Gryphon's Story

✨Hi, I’m Gryphon — Gryph for short. ✨
I’m 4 years old, 26 lbs, healthy, neutered, and ready for my next chapter. My pics make me look bigger than I am and my Foster Mom isn't sure what my breed is; maybe part Jack Russell but I'm bigger and calmer or maybe some Border Collie but I'm mellow. Doesn't matter though because I'm a very sweet guy and
I’m the kind of dog who really likes being part of a home. I don’t need to be the center of attention — I just like being nearby. If you’re in the kitchen, I’ll hang out there. If you’re watching TV, I’ll grab a spot on the floor close to you.
I get along well with dogs of all sizes and ages, and I have the temperament to do well with kids, too. I enjoy toys, a good romp in the yard, and then settling back down inside.
When you come home, I’ll be happy to see you — tail wagging, ready to say hello — but I’m not overwhelming. I prefer sitting next to you instead of on top of you. Close, but calm.
I’m housebroken, crate trained, and would happily sleep in a dog bed near my people if given the choice.
I’d make a great family dog or a steady companion for someone on their own. I’m easy to live with, affectionate without being clingy, and ready to settle into a forever home.
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’m your guy. 💚🐾
Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue.com) to get lots more info on me!

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
