Groucho's Story

Meet Mr. Big

Grouch is a (likely) purebred Lhasa Apso, about 2 years old. He was found dumped on Solms Road on the east side of I-35, filthy and horribly matted. His face was completely hidden under mats, even covering his eyes. Despite his condition, he appeared well-fed and clearly had been someone's pet. We suspect Mr. Big was purchased from a breeder and then abandoned when his owner couldn't keep up with the regular grooming and care he needs.

After carefully cutting away the mats, we finally got to see his sweet little face. Sadly, we also discovered he has cherry eye in both eyes. This condition is common in this breed. He was treated for a skin infection and received surgery in both eyes. Since the surgery, one of the cherry eyes has returned and will need to be treated again.

He is neutered up to date on all his vaccinations. He is housebroken but does not like the kennel (we suspect her was confined for long periods of time). He is very friendly and loving to one or two people. He suggles and requests attention on his own terms. He prefers to come to you rather than be picked up and moved. He has come a long way since we first got him and continues to improve, both in personality and health. He needs a small consistant family to thrive and be the best guy he can be!

Do you have room in your heart and home to foster Groucho while he heals—or even to adopt him and give him the stable, loving life he deserves?

Apply to foster or adopt here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57447/generic
