Groot's Story
Groot has recently navigated some of life’s biggest hurdles. After eight years of loyalty and love, the only world he ever knew changed in an instant when his owner moved into assisted living. The transition was hard on this sweet senior; in the shelter, he lost his appetite and some weight, currently weighing in at a delicate 10 lbs.

However, the "spring" is returning to his step! Since arriving in his foster home, Groot has been settling in and focusing on his health. We’ve learned that while he’s a social butterfly in spirit, he’s a "private diner" at heart—he prefers to enjoy his meals in a quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle of humans and other pups.

The Details on This Distinguished Gentleman:
• Age: 8 Years Young (Senior)
• Weight: 10 lbs (Working on gaining a few more!)
• House Manners: 10/10. He is a fully potty-trained pro.
• Social Life: He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is a calm, steady presence in the home.
• Hobby: Soaking up the beautiful spring sunshine and reveling in all the affection he can get.

Groot’s Ideal Match
Groot is a low-energy, soulful boy who simply wants a soft place to land. His perfect forever home would be a quiet, calm environment that matches his peaceful temperament. If you have room in your heart and on your sofa for a mature fellow who just wants to love and be loved, Groot is waiting for you.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
