Gromit's Story

Meet Gromit!
Gromit is a sweet senior boy who loves to take life slow and gentle. His hobbies include naps, cuddles, and tottering around after his people in the hope of earning a few extra pats and affectionate words. Gromit was found with another dog, Wallace who has since been adopted, as a stray in Providence. He was filthy and covered painfully tight matted fur, but his resilience was obvious in how he continued to be gentle, tolerant, and willing to trust us. Gromit has come a long way during the past few months at PARL - several grooming appointments keep him looking and feeling his best, a quiet foster home gives him the TLC he spent so long without, and he continues to patiently wait for a family of his own.

Gromit has no known experience with cats but would likely do well with a slow introduction. He has lived with several dogs with no issues and would be happy to live with other dogs as long as they don't expect him to play and roughhouse like a youngster. Gromit is estimated to be around 8 years old and he does have dental disease and a heart murmur that may benefit from further diagnostics and a dental surgery to clean and possibly extract any painful teeth. PARL will provide a $300 voucher to help cover the cost of his dental.

This animal is currently in foster care, if you are interested in meeting them please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and email our foster coordinator at foster@parl.org with any questions or to schedule a meet and greet.
