Grizz's Story

Cue the dramatic music. Picture a spotlight. It’s my movie, “Grizz and the Great Love Story,” rated P for Perfect Pup!

Alone. Waiting. Dreaming of the day I finally find the one — a human to call my own. I came to the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center as a fearful stray, unsure if people could ever be part of my story. But since graduating the program, I’ve blossomed, and let’s be real, I’m ready for my next act. One where belly rubs are endless, treats appear like magic and our love story finally begins. So, what are you waiting for? Adopt me and give me the life I deserve! And hurry, I’ve already started planning our dramatic reunion scene.

I imagine us together: long walks into the sunset, car rides with the wind in my fur and cozy nights where you whisper sweet nothings like “Who’s a good girl?” (Spoiler: It’s me.) I’ll greet you with wiggles and kisses, then collapse dramatically into your arms like the star of a soap opera. My heart howls for you under the moonlight, and my soul dreams of snacks shared in quiet moments.

With other dogs, I’m a social butterfly with a flair for drama. I love to play chase, zoom like a whirlwind and throw in my signature move, the tuck-and-roll, because every great story needs a plot twist. I’m full of energy and joy, but I also appreciate dog friends who know how to keep the scene fun without turning it into total chaos.

I’ve come so far, but the story isn’t complete until you’re in it. So, what do you say? Ready to make this love story happen? Because I’m ready for my happily ever after, and I promise to make it the most dramatic, snack-filled romance of your life!

Click the “Submit an Adoption Inquiry” button below today and ask for Grizz! ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center's Adoption Policy
When the BRC receives an adoption inquiry about a dog, a BRC Behavior Specialist reaches out via email to the potential adopter. They provide the dog’s Adoption Profile which explains a little more about the dog, and they also provide some general information about the BRC program, the population of dogs we serve, and what an adopter might expect if they bring home a graduate of our program. If the person pursues the adoption, the Behavior Specialist schedules a phone call to discuss the dog in more detail and to get more information about the adopter and their circumstances (home life, other pets, children, etc.). If, after the phone conversation, the potential adopter and our staff member both feel that the dog and adopter are a good match, an in-person meet and greet is scheduled for the adopter (and family if applicable) to meet the dog. BRC dogs can often go home right after the first meet and greet if the adopter is ready to take a dog home, but the BRC also welcomes potential adopters to go home and think it over or discuss with other members of the family, or even to set up additional meets with other family members or the family dogs, etc. Our adoption process is conversation based with the goal of making a successful match between the adopter(s) and a dog.
