Griselda the Sublime's Story

2/10/2026
Griselda the Sublime is an approximately 4-6 year old female French Bulldog with long hair. While Griselda does have lots of great qualities...let's get the cons out of the way so we don't waste anyone's time or get anyone prematurely excited. Griselda was found as a stray after clearly being bred repetitively. She was nearly bald from a deep rooted skin infection caused by intense allergies and a response to those allergies that went chronically untreated. She had terribly infected ears and eyes as well. While we have worked tirelessly to get her skin healthy, due to poor breeding and genetics, she is always going to struggle with environmental allergies. Because of this she has to eat a very expensive grain free food. We have done food trials and know what works for her and what doesn't. She also requires Apoquel twice a day and it is an expensive drug. We have not been able to successfully take her off of this drug. She gets a special bath once a week that she hates, but it really does help her as much as anythig else. She needs eye drops for chronic dry eye, which she also hates and honestly we don't win that argument every single day. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body so I won't call it a 'fight'.... just an argument!! So far though we've kept the eyes healthy with hit or miss drops. But it is another expense to add to her care. She also has bilateral knee caps that don't love to stay in place but because they do not seem to bother her or stop her from jumping up on high places, we decided against surgery. She absolutely will escape if your fence is not secure... meaning she will squeeze herself tiny like a mouse to see what the world on the other side of yours has to offer.
The good stuff is this....she is a very, very sweet girl. She's affectionate and gets along well with everyone. She does not have any of the stereotypical Frenchie snarkiness. She is super low energy and spends most of the day sleeping. She walks great on leash and we have never once heard her bark. She is crate trained and while I can't say she has ever gone to the door to ask to go out, she has done fine with house breaking with regular potty breaks. We do crate her when we leave. The thing that she loves the most is being in the car. If the door is open she is jumping in and she'd be happy to only get out for potty breaks and snacks. We realize it will take someone with a distinct love for the breed to take on her challenges, but are hopeful that person is out there!

Griselda is up to date on shots and preventatives and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250 plus any additional donation you feel appropriate. Our adoption fee is set to a level to make adoptions happen. They do not cover our costs. Thank you for your generosity and interest in our dogs!

All dogs adopted locally through SGDR receive a free six-week session of obedience classes and a lifetime of behavior support through our Project REWARD program with trainer Ashley Reum.

You must have an approved application before being able to visit a dog. Visit our website below for an adoption application https://www.snootygiggles.com/dog-application/

If you expect to leave the dog alone for long periods of time, please do not consider adopting a puppy. Puppies need lots of attention and companionship. Thanks.

All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history.
