Griffin's Story

COURTESY POST — MEET GRIFFIN

Sometimes loving your dog means recognizing that a different home may be where they can truly thrive. Griffins family has made the incredibly difficult decision to find him a home better suited to his needs.

Griffin, affectionately known as Griff or Griffy Griff, is almost 2 years old and over 60 lbs. Hes a loving, goofy, incredibly soft teddy bear of a dog who has absolutely no idea how big he is. If theres a lap available, hell happily try to fit in it—especially if belly rubs, head scratches, or chest rubs are involved.

Griffin is high-energy, athletic, playful, and thrives on routine. He loves playing with other dogs and currently has a canine best friend that he runs, wrestles, and romps around with. Hes also accustomed to having someone working from home and loves spending his days close to his person, whether hes sleeping at their feet or making an appearance on a Zoom call.

After professional training and many adjustments within the home, his family has realized that the activity and unpredictability that comes with young children simply isnt the right environment for Griffin. He can play rough when excited, so he is looking for an adult-only home where his energy can be understood and appropriately channeled.

Griffins ideal home:
Adults only
Experience with high-energy, athletic dogs
Another dog could be a great fit, but isnt required
No cats recommended due to his size and energy level
A fenced yard OR someone committed to plenty of daily exercise
A home where he wont spend long periods crated
Plenty of couch space for nighttime snuggles and belly rubs

Griffin is fully crate trained and considers his crate his bed. He currently sleeps there at night and does well crated for shorter periods, but he is accustomed to spending most of his day with his people.

Like every dog, Griffin has his quirks. He doesnt particularly like having his paws touched, and when hes settled into his favorite comfy spot for a nap, he prefers to be left to snooze.

His family loves him dearly and wants nothing more than to find the right person who will appreciate the big, goofy, energetic, affectionate dog that he is.

Interested in Griffin? Please contact his owner directly at:
haleydoliver3@gmail.com

COURTESY POST: Griffin is not in the care or custody of Dog Orphans Humane Society. All inquiries, meetings, and placement arrangements must be made directly with his owner.
