Griffey's Story

Griffey
Male
Age: 8 years
Weight: 30 lbs
Breed: Welsh Corgie

Hi, I'm Griffey! I'm a silly, sassy, and sweet older gentleman with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I still have plenty of pep in my step and love getting out for walks, especially when I can stop to sniff everything. Afterward, you'll usually find me hopping onto the couch with flawless technique for some serious cuddle time. I'm a herding breed, so when things get exciting, I get excited too. Because of that, I'd do best in a home with older kids who can match my energy and help keep things calm. I get along well with cats and enjoy small, polite play sessions with my foster siblings—both canine and feline. When it comes to other dogs, I tend to be most comfortable around calm companions and do best with male dogs that have been neutered. I'm crate trained, house trained, and walk nicely on a leash. I know the command “sit” and I'm always eager to show it off, especially if there are treats involved. My favorites are freeze-dried meat treats, low-carb goodies, and stuffies with squeakers. I do have diabetes, but I handle it like a champ. I get insulin twice a day, eat prescription food, and have no issues with my routine—it's just part of my day and doesn't slow me down one bit. I absolutely love snuggling, butt scratches, and being close to my people. If you offer me treats and plenty of booty scratches, I promise I'll be your best friend for life. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion with a dash of sass and lots of love to give, I might just be your guy. If you are interested in meeting Griffey apply to adopt him at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $195. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be10 or older.
