Griffen's Story
Griffen is a handsome 1-year-old Pointer mix with a goofy, happy personality and a whole lot of love to give! This fun-loving boy gets excited when it's time to come out of his kennel and is always ready to see what the day has in store. Griffen is very treat motivated, takes treats gently, and is easily redirected with verbal cues and leash guidance. He may pull when something exciting catches his attention, but he responds well to his handler.

Griffen is an affectionate, playful guy who isn't shy about asking for attention. He loves toys and will even initiate play on his own, happily entertaining himself when the mood strikes! His evaluator described him as goofy and excited to be there. Griffen also did wonderfully with full-body handling—paws, ears, tail, collar, hugs and all—and basically didn't care what his evaluator did. He showed no concerning food or possession guarding behaviors and was comfortable giving up valued items, even if he would've preferred to keep the fun going!

This boy also has some great social skills with other animals. Griffen was assessed as likely all-around dog friendly. He was playful and friendly with Hunny while also respecting that she wasn't quite as sure about him. When another dog was less friendly toward Griffen, he simply couldn't have cared less and didn't engage in conflict.

His cat evaluation was just as encouraging. Griffen politely approached the shelter cat, gave her a sniff, and then simply walked away. His evaluator described it as a “very uneventful interaction,” and Griffen was assessed as likely cat friendly.

Overall, Griffen is a happy, goofy, playful and affectionate young dog who's ready to trade shelter life for a home of his own. If you're looking for a fun companion who loves people, enjoys making canine friends, and is always ready for the next adventure, Griffen may be your guy!

Oconee County Animal Services
1171 Branch Rd, Bishop, GA
Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 12p-6p Sat 12p-4p Sun 12p-3p

Apply to adopt: https://www.oconeecounty.com/forms.aspx?FID=80
