GRETEL (cc 7219)'s Story
This is Gretel, and this is her story.......
Animal Control was called. "There are two dogs tied to a tree on the reservation." Boy was he surprised when they turned out to be very young. No longer babies, but almost still puppies. Checking their teeth he figured they were about 6 to 8 months old. A few days later the town vet was in. He looked them over and gave them each their Rabies Vaccination. His estimate was 12 to 14 months old. Except for color they look very much alike and appeared to be siblings. (And what would you call a brother and sister found lost in the woods???? Why, Hansel and Gretel, of course.) As you can see, Gretel is a beautiful grey brindle. Hansel is a brown brindle with white markings. Both were frightened, but they came around at the shelter, and will be available for adoption shortly.

If you have any questions, would like more information about Gretel or if you are considering adoption, you can give us a call. Or, speak with an animal control officer through the West Orange Health Department at 973-325-4121. Best yet, stop by and take a look. The Township's Animal Control Facility (commonly called The Animal Shelter) is located at 311 Watchung Avenue, West Orange; and is open Monday through Friday 4:30 - 5:30.... .... (Occasionally additional hours can be made by appointment with an animal control officer.)

*** NOTE: You can also stop by this Saturday June 20th, 11AM to 3PM to see the animals at the shelter.

...........
