Gretchen Doberman Pinscher Fillmore, CA

Gretchen was previously known as Serena during her time with us. She is probably about 3 years old and quite the beautiful girl. Unfortunately, Gretchen was returned because her owner felt she couldn't handle her. She did go thru some training at Petco so she knows some basics but Gretchen also needs an owner that knows behavior and behavior modification. The thing is, Gretchen bonds deeply with her person (or people) and though she isn't super snuggly, she loves to be at your side. She is not welcoming, however, to people who do not live with her. No matter how often they may visit, they are not a part of her family and she is protective of her family. She hasn't bitten anyone but she does bark and can be very intimidating. We believe Gretchen needs a home that has very few or no visitors and a secluded place to rest for when people do come over. Gretchen also needs structured walks or exercise in a large yard or even acreage to run and play. We have seen her live with large dogs of both genders peacefully and after she feels comfortable, she loves to play. Gretchen is devoted, loving, and it is hard not to fall in love with her so we are hoping that her next home is the right home and her final forever home.
