She tested positive for heartworm and was later found to have a fracture in her front leg. With the shelter overcrowded and her life at risk, she was pulled to safety and given the chance she so desperately deserved.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Since then, Gretchen has come a long way. She's gained healthy weight, her coat has fully grown back, and she's feeling good. A recent vet recheck shows her leg is healing, though she will likely always have a slight limp and may develop arthritis later in life. It doesn't slow her down — she's comfortable, happy, and enjoys her daily routines.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Gretchen is a gentle, affectionate girl who can be timid at first, but once she feels safe, she loves deeply. Pick up pet, horse, llama, donkey, etc.
