Gretchen's Story
Hi, I’m Gretchen! I’m a 2-year-old Pocket Staffy — a smaller Staffordshire Terrier — weighing in at an adorable 40 pounds. I’m a sweet, happy-go-lucky girl who loves meeting new people and spreading smiles wherever I go.

My absolute favorite thing in the world is getting neck scratches — I’ll pull the funniest faces while you give them, and it never fails to make people laugh. I walk well on a leash and I’m currently learning sit. I enjoy human attention and thrive on gentle affection and positive interactions.

I am **heartworm positive**, which means I need to complete my first round of treatment before I can be spayed and officially head home. During this time, I need to remain **low activity** to keep my heart safe and stress-free. The good news? I’m still available for **pre-adoption**! I’d love a family to cheer me on while I complete treatment here at the shelter.

If you’re looking for a loving, people-friendly companion and are willing to be patient while I finish my medical care, I’d be so excited to meet you! If you're interested in pre-adopting me, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 or Friday and Saturday 1-5. All of my love and kisses, Gretchen /(^.^)\
