Greg's Story

Greg is a 212 year-old, 80 lb. shepherd mix with giant satellite ears and a love for adventure. Whether he's chasing dandelion fluff, patrolling the yard for house flies, or sniffing every inch of the trail, Greg approaches life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He'd make an excellent hiking buddy and is always up for a car ride to the next adventure.

Greg is a social butterfly with other dogs and loves making new friends at the dog park. He can get a little overexcited when meeting new people or dogs and may jump to say hello, but once he settles in, he's an affectionate companion who just wants to be by your side. On walks, he'll even nuzzle your hand to politely ask for ear scratches.

At home, Greg is house-trained, crate-trained (though he'd much rather be on the couch), and trustworthy when left out—he'll simply wait patiently for you to come home. He is very smart and knows basic commands and is always happy to show them off in exchange for treats. When the day is done, his favorite place is curled up next to his people, soaking up all the pets and snuggles.

Greg is looking for a relatively quiet home with an enclosed yard, older children, and plenty of time for both outdoor adventures and couch cuddles. While he can tolerate cats, a cat-free home would be best. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will happily follow you anywhere, Greg is ready to be your best friend.

Meet and greets will be at our sanctuary unless it is in the best interest of the dog to meet at the foster home. To meet any of our adoptable dogs please email your application to buckeyethepittie@gmail.com to set up an appointment. Please note that submitting an application for a dog does not guarantee that you will be approved to adopt that dog. Buckeye's reserves the right to approve or reject any application, for any reason, including but not limited to, judgement of the application, home situation, routine, safety, health, or the dog not being compatible to the applicant. Furthermore, there may be other applicants for the same dog. The best match for the dog and applicant will be made, regardless of order of application received or meet conducted.
