Granite's Story

ADOPTION MEET PENDING !!!!
Granite is an approximately 3 year old white and tan Parsons-type Jack Russell terrier. He weighs 16 pounds.
Granite was picked up as an unclaimed stray in southern California. He was a bit shy and withdrawn when he first came into foster care, but he is opening up and gaining confidence with quality time.
Granite is house trained and house safe and crates quietly. He rides well in the car and is a good traveler. Granite is decent on leash although he does get super-excited if he sees other dogs and would benefit enormously from a starter group positive training class or a Reactive Rover program. He has some excellent off-leash hiking miles under his belt. He is one of those rare Jacks who is NOT crazy hyper; this is a quiet boy who likes to observe his surroundings before he makes up his mind. He would thrive in a home where he got quality attention and some training classes to expand his horizons. He did well with other easygoing dogs in foster care.
Granite is fully vaccinated, tested heart worm negative, neutered and has had a just-in-case teeth-cleaning.
Granite is in foster care in the Boise area, but he also spends time in Newport, Oregon. His adoption fee is $200.

Jack Russell Rescue Oregon Washington & Idaho's Adoption Policy
We require an approved application before setting up a meet with any of our dogs. In most cases, secure fencing is a must - exceptions may be made for certain "Velcro" dogs and isolated rural properties, or for urban adopters who run daily. Except for certain dogs, no kids under the age of 6 is our rule of thumb, but it depends again on the dog and on the kids. We have a 2 to 3 week trial adoption period for all our dogs - we want everyone to be happy - and we back our dogs up for their lifetimes. Thank you for thinking of a rescue Jack!
