Granger's Story
Granger came to us in June 2023. He was the constant companion of a homeless man. Both he and his former owner were hit by a car while crossing at a major intersection. Granger had his back leg broken and got a bad concussion. His owner was injured and taken to the hospital but was never heard from again. One of our clients witnessed the accident, picked Granger up and brought him to our hospital. He was treated and stabilized, eventually had his leg repaired and stayed with us while he healed. Many attempts were made to locate his owner, but we were unsuccessful.

Granger became the darling of our veterinary hospital. No matter how painful or difficult his treatment, he remained calm, trusting, and cooperative. When his leg was healed, he was neutered, microchipped and had a fractured tooth removed.

He is very healthy now, current on all vaccines and preventatives, and has continued to live at our veterinary hospital, participating in training classes and daily PlayCare. He loves the pool, and walks in the neighborhood. He does regular sleepovers with our team members, but he is still looking for his own family.

He loves attention and affection, is not a fussy eater, and loves to go for car rides. He really enjoys the company of male humans and would bond very strongly to a single person, although a family with older children would also be great.

He would also do well as an emotional support dog, as he is very sensitive to the feelings of humans, and willing to walk along side someone through thick and thin.
