Graham's Story

Everybody give a warm welcome to Graham, he is our latest intake! Graham is a beautiful 8-month old pup who has come to us from a horrible situation in rural Southwest Oklahoma. He is the first one rescued out of 11 total dogs in his litter. The rest of the litter is still there on the property, which has no shelter at all. The owner of the property is in a bunch of legal trouble and will most likely be going to jail. The animal advocates in the area where the situation is happening reached out to Helpless Hounds, and we were able to pull Graham and save him last week, only because we had a foster sign up in Colorado who is willing to open her home to him. Graham got neutered and fully vetted on Friday of last week, and he is now ready for his forever home! He LOVES LOVES LOVES other dogs but is a bit too curious about cats.

We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always try to select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs and try to find the best match for both dog and human. We leave a dog’s profile online until either it has been adopted, or has received several applications. We are a non-profit organization that spends our adoption fees and donations on vaccinations, surgeries, various medical tests, medicines, food and supplies needed by our dogs. Our fees do not cover the overall expenses incurred by the care of our dogs, but they do help defray the costs involved. We thank you for your support.
