Gracie (pending adoption)'s Story

This sweet girl is Gracie. She will be 8 years old in July but you would never guess it – she is a very active little girl. She is very happy to be wherever you are – a real ‘people’ dog. Gracie has been well-loved and cared for all of her life and her personality proves it. She's very good in the house and quiet as well - she rarely barks.

Gracie LOVES to play ball and insists on it - she does bark then but not much. She gets along well with her foster family’s sheltie and knows which food/water dishes are hers and takes her time eating. Sometimes when you give her a treat she will snatch or try to snatch it from you. As you offer it to her - just tell her to take it nicely or easy. She is very enthusiastic about going on walks and walks very well on leash.

She can be a bit timid and spook at things unexpectedly at times but we don't consider this an issue. However, her new family should be hesitant to take her to off leash areas until she is more comfortable and bonded in her new surroundings. She has excellent recall but because she can be spooked is considered a flight risk. She doesn't chase the cats and they all roam the same area. She likes to be brushed and loves to be petted. She is every bit a lady and does not like to be played with roughly - only gently.

Gracie’s ideal home will:
1. Preferably already have a dog since she only knows life with other dogs around her.
2. Be active - committed to ensuring she gets lots of exercise and playing fetch every day.
3. Have a fully fenced backyard to play ball in.

Gracie is fostered in the Calgary area.
