Gracie's Story

Gracie
1 year, 13lbs
Rescued in the Southwest

Meet Gracie, a one-year-old, 13lb sweetheart with bundles of puppy energy and an even bigger heart. She's completely adorable - heeler coloring in a tiny chihuahua body. Gracie is sweet, playful, and loving through and through, and while she can be a touch timid in brand-new situations, it never takes long before a quick sniff turns into a full-on love session of chin scratches and tummy rubs. She's a natural people-and-pet pleaser, having already charmed kids and adults alike in her very first days as a New Yorker, and she gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes, playing without ever coming on too strong. She's great with guests, greeting them with wagging tails and easy affection, and her leash skills are already excellent. With her adorable ears, big smile, and a heart-shaped spot on her side, she's impossible not to fall for.

Gracie would thrive in an active, moderate household, ideally one with company throughout the day, she's still working on building confidence with alone time and settling comfortably in her crate. She does best with two solid walks a day (about 30-45 minutes each) to stretch her legs and get her social fix, but otherwise she's happiest simply being near her humans, soaking up pets and the occasional snack. She'd fit right into apartment living and would be just as happy as an only dog or with another pet in the home. For an adopter with love, patience, and treats to spare, Gracie is ready to settle into the Big City and give her whole heart in return.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt Gracie, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.

Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!
