Gracie's Story

Meet Gracie — a 6-year-old Havanese/Shih Tzu mix with the softest fur and the sweetest little “are we best friends yet?” eyes you’ve ever seen.

After spending a few years living the backyard life, this brave girl recently joined Animal Advocacy and is discovering that couches, cuddles, and cozy crates are actually amazing. She’s friendly, gentle, and loves being around other dogs and even cats — basically, if it has four legs and a heartbeat, Gracie is ready to be pals.

She’s crate trained (gold star), making great progress on house training, and working hard on building her confidence. Every day she gets a little braver — learning how to play with her canine buddies and figuring out this mysterious thing called “walking on a leash.” (Apparently it’s not just a weird fashion accessory.)

Gracie is the perfect mix of sweet and silly, with just a dash of “wait… what’s that?” curiosity. All she needs now is a forever family to cheer her on while she blossoms into the confident little queen she was always meant to be.
.
She has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. In short, all ready to find her forever home!

Interested in looking to adopt this sweet girl? Please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt).
