Gracie's Story

Meet Gracie, a sweet, smart mixed breed puppy with a playful spirit and an incredibly loving, in-tune-with-her-people personality.

Born April 29, 2026, Gracie is still just a baby, but she is already showing what a great dog she is going to grow into. We think she may have some Shepherd, Hound, and Lab in her, but her official breed is probably best described as 100% good girl.

Gracie is curious, playful, friendly, and incredibly eager to please. For such a young puppy, she is also surprisingly calm and well mannered. She loves people, is friendly with everyone she meets, and is great with other dogs. She would thrive in a home with another dog to be her companion, playmate, and someone she can continue to learn from as she grows.

She is a smart girl and picks up new things quickly, especially when food is involved. Gracie already responds really well to her name, knows a couple of commands, and is getting very good at ringing bells when she needs to go outside. She is mostly potty trained with only an occasional puppy accident and is doing great with kennel training. She goes into her kennel for naps and bedtime and settles herself quickly.

Gracie LOVES to play and would be a great fit for an active family looking for a dog to join them for walks, outdoor adventures, and weekend fun. A yard would be a big plus for this girl because she absolutely loves being outside. She will happily flop down in the grass, cross her paws, and just enjoy being there. She also takes her stick collecting duties very seriously.

When she isnt outside exploring, Gracie loves enrichment toys, hunting for hidden kibble, playing with other dogs, and anything that gives her smart puppy brain something to figure out. She is highly food motivated, which makes training with her both fun and rewarding.

For all of her playful puppy energy, Gracie also has a wonderfully sweet and affectionate side. She is a great snuggler and forms strong attachments to her people. If something outside startles her, she will come back to her person to check in before heading off to investigate again. She also seems very tuned in to the people around her. When she senses sadness or anxiety, she will come closer, make body contact, and simply stay with you.

Gracie is looking for a family ready for all the fun that comes with raising a smart, curious puppy. She still has plenty to learn, but she is food motivated, eager to please, and learns quickly. Give this girl some adventures, a dog friend, plenty of things to keep her brain busy, and a patch of grass to lounge in, and she will be one happy Gracie Girl.

Gracie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her DA2PP, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, and Rabies vaccines. She has been fecal tested, is current on monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention, and has been veterinarian checked healthy.

Gracies adoption fee is $575.

Her adoption fee helps cover the cost of her veterinary care, training, grooming, food, supplies, and daily care while she is in rescue. As a small nonprofit, adoption fees also help us continue rescuing other dogs in need.

To apply to adopt Gracie, visit www.barkindogs.org.
