GRACE's Story

Meet Grace!!!

Grace came from Contra Costa County Animal Services, where she was the last dog on the euthanasia list the day she was rescued. She was then brought into my care, where she initially showed signs of significant stress from her shelter experience. With patience, consistency, and a structured routine, Grace has truly come out of her shell.

Grace is a very sensitive dog who thrives in a calm, predictable environment. She does not do well with other dogs, likely due to past trauma and her time in the shelter. She would do best in a home with no other pets, where she can feel safe and not have to share her space.

She is an active, adventurous companion who loves hiking, swimming, and running alongside a bike. Grace is ecollar-trained for off-leash work and has a strong bond with her handler.

Grace would do best with an experienced owner who understands structure, leadership, and can continue to provide her with the stability she needs to feel safe and confident.

To inquire, please email:

arijafontanilla@gmail.com

We love you Grace!!!

The McDonough Rescue's Adoption Policy
The adoption process is considered a very personal experience at The McDonough Rescue. Besides a thorough adoption application, we believe a phone call, home check and overall personal relationship with potential adopters is so important. We know that adopting a new family member can be overwhelming, so hand holding and talking through the process with potential adopters is a crucial step. We believe that this allows both the new pet and new family to all feel supported.

They have a way of finding exactly who is supposed to love them back to life, and at The McDonough Rescue we believe we can facilitate that.
