Gorgina's Story
Gorgina
Female
2 years old
70 lbs
Spayed

Meet Georgie, affectionately known by her foster family as Georgie Girl, Pretty Girl, or Baby Girl. She is the only female dog in her current foster pack and is ready to find her forever family.

Georgie is a loyal, sweet, and intelligent companion who is blossoming more every single day. She has a medium-high energy level and is looking for an active, patient home where she can continue to grow in confidence and ability. Daily exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent training are a must for this bright girl to thrive.

When it comes to house manners, Georgie is an absolute professional. She is 100 percent house trained with zero accidents in her foster home, and she is incredibly respectful of the house, showing no destructive behavior or random chewing.

At night, she is an angel who sleeps perfectly on her dog bed right next to her human. She takes her role as family protector seriously, occasionally going on a silent nighttime patrol to check the doors and windows to make sure her pack is safe. During the day, she does excellent free-roaming in an office alongside other dogs for up to four to five hours.

Georgie is wonderfully dog-friendly and bonded quickly with her foster brothers, who are male Shepherd mixes. She loves to run and roughhouse with them in the yard. While her compatibility with children is technically unknown, she is incredibly friendly with every person she meets.

Due to a high prey drive regarding rabbits and squirrels, Georgie should not go to a home with cats or other small animals. She is also remarkably quiet, choosing never to bark unless she is in the middle of a play session or spots a critter. When delivery vans pull into the driveway, she simply perks up her ears and silently monitors the situation.

Georgie is just starting to discover the joy of toys and will happily run around with a plush stuffy in her mouth when she gets the zoomies. She also loves natural chew toys like beef bones, yak cheese chews, and bully sticks. Her absolute favorite activity is her off-leash evening runs at the farm pond. She will run a quick lap around the water as free as the wind, but her natural recall is amazing; she never wants to lose sight of her human and always comes racing right back. On a leash, she is already quite good and matches the pace of her handler, though she will pull if she catches the scent of a critter.

She is currently working on basic obedience commands like sit, stay, shake, place, leave it, and heel. Due to Georgie forming such deep bonds with her humans, her biggest area for improvement is her crate training and separation anxiety.

She dislikes being alone and exhibits anxiety when confined in a crate or a gated room by herself. Her foster family is working on this one day at a time by feeding her in her crate with the door open, and she is successfully learning that the crate is a safe space rather than a punishment. She has already shown great progress by laying down in her crate after eating while she waits for the other dogs to finish. Georgie does best when she can free-roam with a canine companion, but she will need a patient adopter willing to keep building her confidence when left alone.

Bring home this pretty girl, and you will gain a fiercely loyal shadow, a dedicated protector, and a best friend for life.

Interested in adopting?
