Stunningly beautiful is the only way we can describe Goose, an amazing nine-year-old male Golden Retriever who has been with his family since he was a puppy coming from the breeder. The family has three children, 7,3 and 2 but sadly the oldest child has seen a tremendous increase in asthma attacks since having Covid a year ago, has been in the emergency room too often and her doctor said it is time for the family to rehome their beloved Goose for the health of their child. They are devastated but know GREAT will place Goose in a loving home where he will continue to be well cared for and loved.<br/><br/>Goose has been an adored family member, well loved, and has received loving care his entire life. He has seen "his children born and grow" and now sadly must leave them for a new life. This beautiful English Cream Golden Retriever has been a loving companion as each new baby has been brought into the family but, now being a senior boy, it is best that he live a more settled and quiet life. He is a very loving and gentle soul his new family should be a quiet couple or single male who will enjoy the company of a larger Golden. <br/><br/>He is house trained, knows commands such as sit, stay, shake and wait, can be left alone without causing problems in the home for 3-4 hours, does NOT dig, jump fences, counter surf or cause any damage in the house. He rides well in a car, loves his daily walks and swimming. He gets along well with dogs but we feel he should be an "only" in his new home since he is a senior boy and has never actually lived with another dog, but he enjoys his pet sitter's cats. He is a happy, joyful boy. <br/><br/>Goose is heartworm negative, current on all vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, bathed and wormed. He does have some allergies so he is on Apoquil, a common problem in Florida and, right now, he is about 15 lbs overweight which is creating too much train on his back legs so his present foster has him on a diet with short daily walks to help rid Goose of his "love handles"..<br/><br/>His new family should be a single person, preferable a man since Goose's ideal weight will be 75 lbs. or older couple who has time to enjoy his company on daily walks, a large, fenced yard, swimming pool, someone home much of the day, no children under 8 and lives in NE Florida. <br/><br/>If you would like to make this gorgeous boy part of your life, please go to www.greatrescue.org to complete an adoption application.
