Goose's Story

Meet Goose, a 1 year old Chesapeake bay retriever. Not a breed we see much here at AWL and getting know her personality has been fun and interesting! Goose found her self as a stray and her owners chose not to reclaim her. Goose will need an active family (she is a breed of hunting dog!) Goose is not good with cats. She does enjoy playing with other dogs but she would do best in a home without them because she resource guards food and door ways from other dogs. As much as she enjoys playing with other dogs she just hasn't proven that she is safe to live with another dog. Goose does enjoy to play ball and is good with people including children. Goose's ideal home would have a fenced in yard although not mandatory it would help her get her zoomies out! Goose just wants a family of her own where her breed is understood. She is potty trained and crate trained! Come meet Goose and take her on a walk, she is ready to get out of here and have a home of her own!Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!

Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County's Adoption Policy
Out of county adopters are also welcomed. -------------------------------------------------------- The procedure for adopting one of our animals is as follows: You walk in, either by appointment or as a walk-in, and our adoption tech will take you to meet the pets. If any of the animals interest you, you can take them out of their cages and spend time with them in a cuddle room or take a walk outside with them (for dogs). Our staff will then answer any questions you may have, explain our trial adoption process to you (explained below) and help you decide if this pet is the perfect fit for your family! If you are adopting a dog and there is another dog in your home, we ask you to come back for an assisted meet and greet with your current pet! You then sign our contract and staff will approve of it before asking for your ID and method of payment. Once we have all of the information we need, you can take your pet home! It's that easy! We try to make the adoption process simple and enjoyable for you and your new pet. Please come in for a visit and give us a try! Trial Adoption: We highly recommend our trial adoption program where you pay for the pet up front (there is no extra fee for the trial) and then take it home for about 5-7 days (we are flexible with this) to see how it fits in with your lifestyle and other pets in the home. If everything works out, great, just call us and let us know you want to finalize and that is when you receive the microchip number and medical papers as well as a goody bag! If it doesn't work out, you bring the pet back and you will receive a full refund. Nursery Nanny Program: We also offer a nursery nanny program for our kittens! If you find one you like, you can take it home the same day even if it is not spayed/neutered yet. We ask that you bring it back for the kitten's spay/neuter date and if it needs to return for any vaccinations! We don't finalize the adoption until the kitten has been spayed/neutered and caught up on vaccines. ADOPTION FEES: $180 for puppies under 9 months, $150 for dogs up to 5 years, $75 for senior dogs, $105 for kittens under 9 months, $95 for adult cats up to 5 years and $65 for senior cats. Fees include: spay/neuter, microchip & registration, vaccines for the year, including the rabies vaccine, and flea & tick and heartworm preventatives
