Goldie's Story

Goldie
2-3 years

Attributes:
Sweet
Smart
Cuddly
Likes all of the attention
Apartment ok
Plays fetch
Really likes people
Would be good for a single person
Would jump a 3 ½ foot fence – so a tie out or tall secure fence
Only dog

Goldie is a 3-year-old, 35-pound Beagle mix (with a little Boxer flair!) who’s full of personality, affection, and charm. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves being close to her people, Goldie might just be your perfect match.

This sweet girl is incredibly people-friendly and thrives on attention. She’s happiest when she’s curled up beside you, soaking in chin and belly scratches—or better yet, snuggled up in bed for a cozy night’s sleep. Goldie truly loves her humans and forms strong bonds.

Goldie has a medium energy level and is a smart gal – she knows some basic commands like “come,” “sit,” and “leave it,” and she would enjoy expanding her repertoire. She’s both house-trained and crate-trained, and goes into her crate on her own to relax. Like many dogs, she may whine or bark a bit when first left alone, but she settles in with time.

Goldie does have a playful, mischievous side—she can’t resist the occasional slipper or cushion if left unsupervised, and she never says no to a good game of fetch! Because of her enthusiasm and strength, Goldie would do best in a home without small children or unsteady adults, and she would prefer to be the only canine resident in the home.

Goldie has been known to test fences, dig, and even dash out an open door. She would be able to jump a 3 1/2-foot fence, so a tall, secure fence or a very strong tie-out will be needed. She would do well in either a house or an apartment, but in either case, she’ll need a vigilant home committed to keeping her safe and secure.

The good news? Goldie is healthy, up to date on care, and ready to find her forever family.

Goldie’s ideal home:
-Adults or older, dog-savvy teens, or a single adult
-Secure yard and attentive supervision
-Someone patient and willing to continue her training
-A home ready for lots of cuddles and companionship

If you’re looking for a loving, snuggly, and spirited companion, Goldie is ready to fill your home with joy (and maybe a little bit of mischief, too!).

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
