He's Made It to Wisconsin and Is Looking for His Forever Home!

Goatie has made the long journey from Mississippi to Wisconsin with Mutt Life Dog Rescue and is settling into his foster home. This sweet little guy has a whole new world waiting for him, and he deserves a patient, loving family who will help him discover just how wonderful life can be.

Meet Goatie

Goatie is part of an owner-surrender/hoarding situation in Mississippi, where his owner had approximately 40 Pomeranian/Chihuahua mixes and could no longer care for them. He spent his entire life in an overcrowded home with many other dogs and has had very little exposure to the outside world.

At 1 year old and 13 pounds, Goatie is ready for a fresh start, but adjusting to life in a home may take time. He is likely to be shy and nervous around unfamiliar people, places, and experiences. He will need a patient and understanding family willing to let him settle in at his own pace without expecting too much too soon.

With a calm environment, consistency, and plenty of reassurance, Goatie can begin building confidence and learning that he is finally safe. Every little step forward will be worth celebrating as he discovers the comforts of home and the joys of having people who care for him.

Goatie will also need help learning the routines and expectations of life as a house dog. His potty training, crate training, and leash manners are unknown, so his new family should be prepared to teach him these skills with patience and positive reinforcement. Since he has lived with many other dogs, a friendly, confident canine companion may help him feel more secure as he adjusts to his new surroundings.

Goatie is looking for someone who understands that earning his trust may take time. He may not be the dog who runs up to greet you right away, but with patience and love, he has the potential to become a wonderful companion. Giving a shy dog the opportunity to feel safe and blossom can be an incredibly rewarding experience.

Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
Weight: 13 lbs
Breed: Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Potty Trained: Unsure
Crate Trained: Unsure
Leash Manners: Unsure
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Not tested
Good with Kids: Unsure

Goatie has made it to Wisconsin and is ready for a fresh start. Now he needs a forever family willing to give him the time, patience, and love he needs to come out of his shell and discover what it means to truly belong.

Could you be the special person who helps Goatie feel safe and loved?

Apply to adopt Goatie today!

www.muttlife.org
______

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate). We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, that works too!

**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
