Glynnis's Story

A SWEET & GENTLE GIRL: Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 37 lbs.

Hi, my name is Glynnis! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am grateful for the love and attention I am receiving while I wait for my new family to find me. I hope to meet them soon! I’ve gotten to spend some time in a few different foster homes and I’ve loved it, so I’m ready for my furever home now!

•OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I’d like to be your only dog as I do not care for other dogs. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. And kids shouldn’t walk me due to my dislike of other dogs.

•PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers say I am ‘a super sweet and precious’ girl who just melts into them for scratches and attention. They gave me some extra assurance and love when I arrived – speaking to me in a calm, gentle voice, as I came in a bit timid and afraid of my new environment, but I’m adjusting well and loving people a lot. I’m reported to be gentle, cuddly, friendly and just a fun, happy girl! My temporary foster said I am “the sweetest dog ever!” My sweet nature is sure to melt your heart. / My energy level is 5-7.

•SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer! So far, I have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘place’, and ‘leave it’ commands. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, though I can be stubborn about returning to it after being out and about with the volunteers as I’d rather spend time with them. I did well in my crate in both temp. foster homes I visited, and I didn’t even use one in the third, so maybe I won’t need one in my furever home. / I had just a few #2 accidents on the shelter schedule, but I did well in three separate temporary foster homes I visited for a few days, so I think I just need to go out more often than the shelter schedule allows.

•LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy being with people and will sometimes just lie down when I know we are headed back to my kennel as I would like to spend more time together. I love our walks and time together and just don’t want it to end! The best part is when we are just hanging out, and I can collect those soft cuddles and gentle scratches that I love. I enjoy chasing a ball in the yard and collecting sticks. Curling up for a nap in a nice soft blanket feels so good. In my temp. foster home, I enjoyed some peanut butter which was so yummy! I also love giving kisses, so you’ll know you’re loved! / I don’t think I’d like being rushed into new situations, so please give me a little time to adjust. The elevator and car ride were a bit new to me, but I hope to get better with practice. Other than that, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

•MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I started an inexpensive anxiety medication to help with some shelter stress I’ve been experiencing. I should be able to wean off of it once I’m settled into my furever home.

I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving, furever family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
