Gizmo's Story

Gizmo is a 12 lb., full grown, 3-4 year old, cute, dark solid grey, Shih Tzu mix. We rescued him from animal control when his time was up. He was found as a stray and no one ever came to claim him. He was in bad shape with lots of hair loss and it's finally growing back (after 5 months of waiting patiently.) BUT he does has a bald stripe down his back that our vet thinks may never grow back in.

What he lacks in looks, he makes up for in that he is AMAZING! He is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, LOVES his stuffed toys so much and carries them around in his mouth. He will hoard them all in his mouth and keeps you entertained. He needed to gain a little weigh, so he enjoys his daily treats and canned food. (He may also be the fan favorite right now and is a little spoiled - OK a lot spoiled!). He likes to cuddle, loves a warm lap and comfy dog beds are his fave. He doesn't find jumping up on the couch of doing stairs as easy as his peers, so our vet thinks he has a little bit of a neurological problem and it just makes him a little special! But to us, he's perfect!!! He follows his foster mom every where, is perfect off leash. Loves to move around rocks and plays with them for hours!!! (Yes you read that correctly - rocks, big ones!)

He is heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, had all of his vaccinations for the year and is on monthly heartworm prevention.

If you're interested in adopting him, please send us a completed dog adoption application off our website. Her would be the perfect dog for an older person looking for a calm, quiet, loving lap dog. He would be a fine apartment dog. Or he would be a great family dog with lots of people top love on him.
