Gio's Story

Hi there I'm Gio, 3-year-old male German Shepherd with the kind of intelligence and presence you expect from my breed. I'm sharp, eager to learn, and thrive when I'm given structure and purpose. If you're looking for a dog who wants to be your partner in life—not just hang around the house—I'm your guy.

I absolutely love people and have done well with men, women, and children. I am very dog social, currently living with three canine companions. I'm so lucky I get to regularly attend a mixed playgroup at daycare (big, small, young, and senior dogs) and I can handle it all with confidence.

Most important for me is engagement. I require a home that will provide clear rules, consistency, and both mental and physical outlets. I am not meant for a sedentary lifestyle—I want to get out, explore, train, and be part of the action. The good news? Once my needs are met I settle beautifully and I can even relax.

This is from Gio's Foster:

Gio is:

• Crate trained (goes in willingly—no force needed)

• Fluent in primary commands (in English)

• Started on off-leash work

• Comfortable in public environments like parks, stores, schools, farmers markets, and outdoor dining areas

He has excellent conformation and appears to be in great physical health.

Because of his size, drive, and energy level, Gio is not a fit for homes with cats. He's also best suited for experienced owners who understand working or protection breeds and are committed to providing firm, fair leadership. He is not recommended for first-time dog owners.

Gio was owner-surrendered when his previous family realized they couldn't meet his needs—but he's ready for a home that can.

If you're looking for a loyal, driven, and loving companion who will thrive with structure and adventure, Gio is ready to meet you.

Gios is current on vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped.

Minimum adoption donation: $500.00

Please visit our website at www.edcgsr.com to fill out an application for this dog.
