Ginger's Story

Meet Ginger

Ginger is a beautiful reddish-coated young girl with a gentle heart and a story that makes you root for her from the very beginning. She was born around 09/27/2024, making her about a year and a half old, and she’s just now getting the chance to experience what a real home should feel like.

Her early life was inconsistent and unfair. After losing her original owner as a puppy, Ginger ended up spending much of her time confined to a basement with little structure or routine. Despite that, she has come out the other side as a happy, loving, and incredibly resilient dog who still believes people are good.

Ginger has an easygoing, friendly personality. She loves people, enjoys attention, and carries herself with a calm curiosity about the world around her. She did great during dog testing and has shown that she can interact well with other dogs. She’s not selective, just happy to be included.

She enjoys simple things like going for walks, exploring the yard, and having a good zoomie session before settling down. She also does very well in public settings. Whether it’s a pet store, a home improvement store, or the vet’s office, Ginger handles new environments with confidence and polite manners.

Ginger is currently working on her basic training and doing a great job. She is learning loose leash walking, recall, and basic commands. She is crate trained, sleeps through the night in her kennel, and rides nicely in the car. She is still working on house training, as she never had the chance to learn a proper routine before, but she is making steady progress with consistency.

Ginger would do best in a home that will continue to guide her with patience and structure while giving her the love she has been missing. She would thrive with a person or family who understands that bringing a dog into their life is a long-term commitment. She just wants to be included, cared for, and finally settled.

Ginger is a sweet, well-mannered, and loving companion who is ready for her fresh start. She’s not asking for anything extraordinary, just a real forever home where she can stay.
Apply at rescueapittie.org!
