Ginger's Story

Ginger is a special girl with a special story. She came to us from a hoarding case of 20+ dogs. She was matted and in need of a serious grooming. Ginger has had no vetting before coming to us and she was just a number amongst many other neglected dogs. Once we got her in our care she was groomed, vetted, and placed in foster. Her foster learned that she walks beautifully on a leash. She loves her crate and will find comfort in laying in it with the door open. She loves afternoon down time laying next to you and getting pets and rubs on her face and paws. Ginger is housebroken and a quick learner. She enjoys being outside when its not too hot (loves sunbathing). She gets along with other dogs and cats, but we still recommend a meet and greet with your current pup. All in all, Ginger is a wonderful little 10 pound companion.

She is still displaying some trauma responses from her situation but the foster is working through them. She has moments where she refuses to drink from a water bowl and prefers to drink from your hand. She is picky with her meals and prefers cooked meals (shes spoiled) but with the right family you can introduce kibble :).

Overtime, these behaviors can be corrected. She is learning to adjust to life as a well cared for, and loved, pup. If you would like to meet Ginger, please submit an application!

https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/66b189c45d6f9afa2c07afb8/6a04d34e25d32404c801216a
