Ginger's Story

I am Ginger the wonder dog, and I am a 5 year old female. I act much younger than that, though, and am full of life and surprises! Like in the morning - I really enjoy going into the shower with my foster Dad - but only when the water is turned on full force so I can get good and wet. Then I rush back into bed with my foster Mom, sit on her head, and wait until she gets wet enough so she wakes up and plays with me! After all, it’s 6 a.m. - time for her to get up and pay attention to the most fabulous pug in the world! And then there was the time that I crawled under the covers and gave one of her toes a little “nip” – which I thought was just the funniest thing, especially when she squealed just like one of my toys! The only thing was, I guess I chose the wrong time to play the toe nipping game, because my foster Mom said something about it being 3 o’clock in the morning. But how is a pug like me supposed to know what time it is? I just know when it is play time – and it was play time! I think my foster Mom has to get more of a sense of humor about these things. And besides, I have a lot more surprises planned for her. For instance, we have six kitty cats in this house. Six – can you imagine? And they have all these sand boxes they get to play in, but I am not allowed to go into them. Now, I don’t think that’s fair at all – do you? So I have a surprise planned for my foster Mom. One of these mornings, while she is sleeping (and she sleeps in way too late if you ask me), I am going to sneak into one of those sand boxes and see what all the fuss is about. And if I find anything interesting in there, well, I just might have to bring it back and drop it right on Foster Mom’s bed. Or maybe right on her. I’ll have to see what kind of mood I’m in. You see, I would rather hear her squeal than one of my squeaky toys! I tell you, there is no end to the games I think up to play with her. I just hope she appreciates all the time I put into planning all my little escapades!

I just love attention (in case you couldn’t guess), and am very playful. But I don’t do anything “bad.” In fact, my foster Mom says I am just too cute for words, whatever that means. I get along fine with the three other pugs in my foster family, and once in a while join them in a good game of chase the cat - but I never hurt the kitties. I just like running after them. And you’ve never seen a pug give kisses like me - fast, sloppy, and all over my foster parents’ faces. I am also a real “lap dog” - it’s my favorite place to sleep.

I have a minor health issue. My eyes do not produce enough lubrication (common in puggies), but it is easily treated with daily application of medicine in each eye, which will have to be done for the rest of my life. Other than that, I am in really good health, and have lots of games left to play in my life!

So if you are looking for the cutest, most playful and affectionate little pug ever, I just could be the pug of your dreams. I would love to be adopted by a forever family who would appreciate all the happiness I can bring to your home. I promise once I become a member of your family, I will find new and fun things to do every day, love you unconditionally, and bring you endless joy. Why not stop by one of APARN’s adoption events and visit with me so I can show you some of my many talents?

My adoption fee is $275.00
