Meet Gilligan
Gilligan is still in Foster and this is what his foster mom has to say-
Handsome, athletic, playful, sweet young dogs. Approximately 1 year old. Bonded brothers. Gilligan seems to enjoy watching TV, especially nature shows. Skipper likes a soft bed and a soft toy. Did I say sweet? Both dogs have a sweet nature. They get along well with my two dogs (border collie/aussie cross and lab/shepherd/collie mix). They can play in a group or just lounge around the house. They come when called (most of the time), walk on a leash (but get nervous in tight spaces), are learning to ride in the car. They both sit for treats and take treats gently. Have good dining manners.
They are used to the noise of farm equipment, mowers, weed eaters, and traffic. Household noises do not bother them.
They have good manners, They do not jump up on furniture or people. They like their crate and spend all unsupervised time in the house in the crate. They do not shed much. They enjoy romping and playing in their turn out pasture.
The down side? These dogs came to the shelter afraid of everything and everyone. They have been in foster care for over six months. Even though they were VERY fearful, they never showed any aggression. They have come a long way, but are still afraid of new people and new situations. They are just beginning to be willing to approach a new person. Gilligan is the more outgoing, but still very cautious.
They are more comfortable with a female, but are getting better with males. They will need a loving compassionate person who is willing to give them time to trust.
Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We care very much about your application answers and they are reviewed for completeness and the best match.
