Gilbert

Meet Gilbert or, as we call him, Gilly. Gilly came to us after being on the run around the Upper Valley for many weeks. After being successfully caught, he was brought to UVHS where we have helped him medically recover from his time in the wild. Gilly came to us significantly underweight and lame on his back leg. While he's gained back the weight he lost, he did need surgery on his leg to remove extra cartilage that had developed in his joint. He has since been recovering wonderfully from surgery and is ready to continue healing at his new forever home. Gilly has had the start of potty training, though this will need continued work. He has been learning to walk nicely on leash, and greet people without jumping. Gilly would do best in an adult only home where he can be spoiled rotten. <br/><br/>We do not know how Gilly would do with cats, though he has been okay with some dogs he has met here at the shelter.
