Gigi

Gigi came into rescue with several other dogs. Their owner was moving out of state and was unable to take them or care for them any longer due to the move and health issues. Gigi is such a happy little dog! She loves attention and is eager to be with her people. She appears to be crate trained and may also be fully housebroken, although we never guarantee that. Gigi gets along well with other dogs and would probably do well with cats also since many cats are bigger than she is and could put her in her place if she got out of line. She's such a good natured little dog though so I don't see her wanting to do much of anything but love on and play with them though. Gigi would be fine with older children but because of her small size, she probably wouldn't need to be with children who wouldn't respect her space or who are too rambunctious. She could get hurt. Gigi would be a wonderful traveling companion because of her small size and is easy to handle. If you are looking for a tiny companion who would love to be your shadow, Gigi may be a great fit for you! <br/>Gigi saw the vet on 8/28/26 and was found to have an ear infection on her exam. Her ears were cleaned and she was given Claro Otic to treat the infection. This is a one time treatment and is generally very effective. She also has some damage to the exterior part of her ears. It is unknown what caused that but she has some tears and a couple of areas where it looks like little chunks are missing. Perhaps, from a dog fight but we will never really know. Overall though, her health is good and this will not affect her quality of life. Its more of a "cosmetic" issue only. She tested negative for heartworms and has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention. She did test positive for hookworms on her fecal so we have dewormed her with Drontal. Gigi weighed 7.62 pounds as of 8/28/26. <br/>If interested in giving Gigi her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Gigi's adoption fee will be $300 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Gigi based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
