Gertrude (Gerty)'s Story

Meet Gerty... Gerty came into the shelter as a stray found in Johnston and dropped off at the police station. Gerty is an 8-9 yr old, F/S, bi-color, GSD. Gerty is spayed and current on vaccines. We have no real history on this sweet girl.. What we have seen is, she is selective with some dogs she meets, loves the people shes met and has some obedience.. we would like to see Gerty go to a home with GSD experience. Only due to her size, we suggest a home with NO small children. If you're looking for and older GSD with lots of life left, stop in and check out Gerty!

Animal adoption through the Tri Town Animal Shelter requires; *A fully completed adoption application. *A meet and greet with the potential adopter and animal. *A meet and greet with any potential family members residing in the household. *A meet and greet with any potential animals residing in the household (dog vs dog only). *A housing check for renters and leasing parties. *A veterinary check on all potential adopters. *You must be 18 years old to adopt - and - we do not do 2nd party adoptions (whoever is receiving the animal is to complete all the above steps in person). Adoption fees are as follows; Cats (all) $200.00 Dogs (all) $300.00 These fees include spay -or- neuter of the animal, worming, distemper (1st and 2nd, depending on length of stay at the shelter) and 1- or 3-year rabies vaccinations (dependent on previous vaccinations). Heartworm, FIV, FELK testing and Micro Chipping can be added at an additional charge to the adopter. *Note* All pricing is subject to change at any time.
