Gertrude's Story

Gertrude is approximately 11-months old, spayed, up-to-date on routine vaccinations, and mostly housetrained. She is still learning to walk on a leash. We don't anticipate her getting much larger than she is currently. We are not sure of the other breed she is mixed with, but has most of the traits of a Bloodhound.

She has a sad start - her family dumped her in a Kentucky shelter with a broken leg. A rescue in Kentucky pulled her and had their vet check her out and on medication. She has been in a foster home who had her on crate rest to help mend the leg. She was leash walked for potty trips, but still needs some leash training.

Gertrude is very sweet, friendly, good with people and other dogs. Due to her current medical condition, we don't recommend a home with very young children.

Secure, fenced in yard would be part of the ultimate home for her. She is being fed a good quality dog food to help obtain a proper weight for her age and size.

For more information, please submit an online application found on our website at www.midatlanticbassets.com.
