10/14; Tilly & Gertie, An Inspiring Duo<br/><br/>Tilly and Gertie, chihuahuas (8 and 10, 6 and 11 pounds) are an inspiring story. Found on a Portland street, they most likely survived because of their strong bond. These two are sweetly loyal to one another, happy to play and snuggle together. They are spry and active, get along well with other dogs and love meeting people – Tilly a bit shyer follows the lead of Gertie, the more outgoing. Easy to live with, they curl up together in a kennel in their foster mom’s bedroom to sleep and are fine being left at home alone while their fosters work. At present they use puppy pads inside when not going outside to potty. They are healthy eaters, take allergy meds and Tillie, having had a small tumor removed, will soon do a follow up with an oncologist. After a very tough life, these two are such a joy to be around; their loving care of one another extends to their foster family. Tillie and Gertie will greatly enrich the lives of whoever opens their heart and home to them. <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>Gertie and Tilly are very close with one another. They are constantly with each other and make the best of friends. Gertie is a little bit more confident, a little more vocal, and a lot more silly! Tilly is a little reserved, (until she gets to know you that is, which happens quickly), a little more relaxed, but don’t let that fool you! Tilly could be called “Silly Tilly” when you catch her rolling in the grass, or being a goofball with her sister! <br/><br/>Gertie is 6 pounds, Tilly is about 10lb. Specialized medical needs of these two girls primarily have to do with their skin. Both unfortunately suffer with intense allergies, which is why they had such severe skin issues. Both of them are doing very well on an allergy medication given once daily, and would need to continue with that. <br/><br/>The girls are getting dentals and spayed with some mammory, tumor removals, and ultimately working on their potty training skills! They would love to meet you! Gertie is also more confident with dog savvy children than Tilly. With a safe kiddo, and a little work, Tilly would likely be wonderful. She is still a bit nervous though.
