Gerdy's Story

Gerdy is about 12 years old and has spent the last 4 years in a foster home. Unfortunately, she’s found herself back with us, and we’re really hoping someone will finally give this sweet old lady a home of her own.

Why hasn’t Gerdy been adopted in all this time? Well, we think her eye might have something to do with it.

Gerdy had glaucoma, which caused some changes to the appearance of one of her eyes. Our vet gave her an injection to relieve the pressure, which also left that eye without vision. She gets drops in her other eye to help prevent the same thing from happening.

Does she look a little different? Yep. Does she care? Not one bit. And neither should you!

Gerdy is a beagle, possibly boxer mix, who absolutely loves going for walks and spending time with her people. She’s not a fan of cats, but she does okay with smaller dogs who aren’t looking to start any drama. At her age, she’s not interested in anyone’s nonsense.

She’s 12 years old. She’s spent 4 years waiting for someone to choose her. And now she’s back in a rescue instead of spending her golden years curled up in someone’s home.

Gerdy doesn’t need perfect eyes to be the perfect companion for someone.

She just needs someone to look past her imperfections and see the sweet girl we’ve known all along.

Let’s get this old lady HOME!

Adoption fee $200

To apply to adopt this pet, please go to:
